Gary Buchanan

Gary Buchanan founded Buchanan Capital Inc. in 2002. He started his 35 year plus investment career in the late 70’s with Merrill Lynch. He managed the Dain Rauscher office in Billings and then was Regional Director and Senior Vice President with D.A. Davidson. Gary has extensive state wide public service serving Governors of both parties as Chairman of the Montana Banking Board, Chairman of the Montana Board of Investments, Chairman of the Montana Capital Investment Board, and Chairman of the Montana Board of Crime Control. He was the first Director of Montana Department of Commerce. Gary led two major executive reorganizations for both Republican and Democrat Governors.

Todd Buchanan

Todd Buchanan joined Buchanan Capital Inc. in 2003. After graduating from Montana State University, Todd served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nicaragua. Upon return he started his career as an Investment Advisor with DA Davidson and worked with Edward Jones before moving back to Billings with his wife Brooke. Todd is deeply committed to Montana and the Billings area and continues to commit time to numerous civic and governmental boards and organizations both at the local and statewide level, including time served on the Montana State Board of Regents and currently with Montana’s Chapter of The Nature Conservancy. Todd and Brooke have two children and they are all grateful to live and work enjoying the lifestyle and independence offered only in Montana and in the region.

Norma Buchanan

Norma Buchanan helped found Buchanan Capital in 2002. She began her career as a bank trainee at National City Bank in Denver Colorado. While raising children, Norma helped the Yellowstone County Attorney on seatbelt safety issues. From 1980-1984 Norma was the social secretary to Montana’s Governor and first lady. Norma’s board appointments have included a Montessori School, Billings Symphony Associates, Yellowstone Art Museum Associates, Montana Nature Conservancy, Z00 Montana and Beartooth Nature Center. She has served on the boards of a number of Non-profit organizations and most recently served on the board of Montana PBS. Norma currently serves as an Honorary Director of First Impressions for Buchanan Capital Inc. She enjoys spending time with her four grandchildren and working with her horses and menagerie of dogs and cats.

Michelle Juntunen

Michelle Juntunen joined Buchanan Capital in June of 2014. She graduated from Carroll College in 2010 with degrees in Political Science and International Relations. Michelle attended the Engalitcheff Institute on Comparative Political and Economic Systems and took courses at Georgetown University where she received a certificate in Public Policy. She has professional background in the federal, state and private sectors. Michelle has worked for the U.S. Travel Association, a nonprofit organization, in Washington, D.C., and for the Washington State Senate. Before joining our team, she worked for the Independent Record in Helena as an Advertising and Marketing Consultant.
